Holiday Chalet in Hermanus

Cape holiday chalet is an easy one hour drive from Cape Town International airport and six kilometres outside of Hermanus on the R43.

The chalet is situated in Middelvlei in the Botriver Nature Resort and is part of a gated, access controlled complex comprising of Meerensee, Sandown Bay and Meerenbosch.

Walker Bay at Hermanus is world renowned for whale watching. You can sit on the patio or even better, on the beach and watch the Southern Right whales playing just beyond the surf line.

The mouth of the Bot river forms a saltwater lagoon which attracts a large variety of birds. It is a favourite place for local bird watchers to come to and is also good for small boat sailing, wind surfing and kite boarding.

There are wonderful scenic walks throughout the reserve and one of my personal favourites is across the wooden bridge towards Kleinmond (the small mouth of the Botriver), which should take approximately 2 hours, for a leisurely breakfast.

Cross the footbridge to reach the beach, swim in the swimming pool or enjoy a game of tennis. This is a natural setting in which to relax and recharge your batteries.
